The standard DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories) contains the requirement that whenever test results are used for a conformity assessment, we have to agree a decision rule with our customers. We hereby inform you about the application of the decision rule in the Saarbrücken laboratory of DEKRA Automobil GmbH.
By default, statements about conformity do not take measurement uncertainty into account and the binary decision rule is applied.
The requirement is met if the measured value is within or on the tolerance limit. If an average value is formed from individual measured values, conformity is only confirmed if all individual values are within tolerance. If different tolerances apply to the individual and average values, the applicable tolerance is considered. Otherwise, the requirements are deemed not to have been met.
If the customer wishes the measurement uncertainty to be taken into account, this will be agreed with him individually before the order is placed.
